Pink Bream

Pink Bream – Sargochromis giardi
The Pink Bream (30 – 48cm) has a robust body and head. The head is greyish-green while the back, flanks and underparts are a creamy yellow and the fins a dark grey with red margins and dark red spots. The anal fin has rows of bright yellow orange centred “egg-spots” along the membrane.
The Pink Bream is found in deep river channels, and floodplains. The female mouth broods the young.
They are found in the Cunene, upper Zambezi and Okavango rivers.
